Current textiles:
These small fibre works are made in the folk art tradition combining various materials with simple imagery to create whimsical depictions of common themes. Each piece incorporates fabrics, felts, buttons and beads highlighted with hand stitching. I have given some pieces a sentimental and amusing title inspired by well known proverbs and everyday sayings. Others are depict children’s themes such as ‘little’ vehicles, dresses, the circus, friends and baby themes. Art can be fun.
These small images range from 4"x4" to 6"x6" in size and are framed in a wooden shadow box frame in black or white. Frame sizes start at 10”x10”.
I also have larger textile pieces in the form of wall hangings and crib quilts.
